The following are just of few of the major milestones achieved, starting from our preparation for ISO 9001 recognition:

i. Carried out internal quality audits, done follow-ups, reported and documented
ii. Sensitized staff on QMS processes and how to develop SMART Quality Objectives
iii. Developed and documented Risk Registers, QMS Context of the Organization and Work Procedures of various cost centers
iv. There’s now Continual Improvement by the Internal quality auditors in performing Root Cause analysis, Corrections and corrective actions
v. Successfully conducted 14 Internal Quality Audits since 2011 to date both on ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 9001:2015
vi. Trained twenty five (25) internal Quality Auditors by Bureau Veritas and of whom ten (10) are Lead auditors
vii. MMUST maintained ISO 9001:2015 Certification status after Surveillance 2 Audit by Bureau Veritas Kenya LTD.
viii. Improved Documentation identification, traceability, and retrievability.
ix. Reduction in wastage of examination booklets by ensuring all lecturers who collect exams and booklets do the accounting of booklets at quality assurance office.
x. Reduction of examination cheating cases during examinations administration by ensuring that exam M&E officers do spot checks to assess entire exam process
xi. There is an improved study culture by students.
xii. Staff have embraced the new ISO 9001:2015 standard
xiii. Sustained and maintained QMS for Main campus, Webuye and Bungoma via internal quality audit and spot check audit visits.
xiv. Held successfully four (4) Management Review Meetings
xv. Carried out various M&E activities in the university Inc.; Exam Administration spot checks, assessment of physical teaching & learning facilities, spot checks on teaching &learning processes
xvi. Restructuring of academic Programmes in line with CUE requirements.
xvii. Developed module Service Level Agreement modules for departmental customization
xviii. Development of more Monitoring and Evaluation tools
